Srinagar, Mar 17 : Director Floriculture department, Farooq Ahmad Rather on Thursday said that tulip garden will be thrown open for public from March 23 onwards.

Talking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS), he said that keeping in view the pleasant climate this year, the garden will be opened from March 23 onwards.

Meanwhile, as per details available with KNS, like previous year around 15 lakh tulips will bloom in the garden this year as well.

Tulip garden Srinagar is the Asia’s largest tulip garden spread over an area of about 30 hectares of land.

Situated on the foothills of Zabarwan Range with an overview of Dal Lake, tulip garden set a record of about 2 lakh tourists visiting the garden last year.

“Department is fully prepared this year and new projects are also being started for beautification and maintenance of new gardens and parks in the Kashmir valley,” said an official. (KNS)
