Srinagar, Apr 21: Traffic police in summer-capital Srinagar has intensified its vehicle checking drive –
– especially of passenger vehicles – in a bid to ensure strict implementation of Covid SOPs.

DySP Traffic Ghulam Hassan while talking to media persons, as per news agency Global News Service, said that although it is a routine practice to check the vehicles however this time around the inspections are being conducted to check the overloading and to see whether SOPs are being followed properly or not.

All such vehicles found in contravention to the SOPs are being booked, the official said adding that efforts are on to ensure social-distancing as to fight back this pandemic more efficiently.

We have booked many violators in and around City including in Lal Chowk and Batamaloo about which data will be shared accordingly, the official said.

The officer has in the meantime urged passengers to avoid boarding overloaded vehicles.GNS
