Baramulla : Second time in a week a TV reporter was attacked in northern region of Kashmir.

Kashmir Despatch has learnt that on Thursday trafic policemen not only thrashed a TV reporter but beaten too at Chala area of Boniyar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla District.

Reports said that traffic policemen without proper reason challaned vehicle of Abid Nabi who wokrs for video agency Asian News International (ANI) and demanded money , however the vehicle in which he was traveling was full of documents.

Meanwhile Abid Nabi told Kashmir Despatch that it’s not first time that traffic policemen are unnecessarily blackmailing general public but they have started this side business to blackmail and to took money forcefully from general public and that too without any reason, he said that i didn’t introduce myself as a Journalist and when they came to know about my profession they became speechless and tried to movite me for not highlighting the issue. Abid said that this indicates that a layman is valueless and are treating badly.

Meanwhile Baramulla working Journalist Association strongly condemned the attack on his colleague and demanded strick action against those traffic policemen, later BWJA registered FIR in police station Boniyar.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier in this week a Tv reporter was attacked in Sopore town by muncipal council employees when he tried to highlight their blackmailing.
