Sopore, 30 June Today on a specific input regarding movement of militants a joint naka was established at 18:40 hrs by PC Sopore, 52 RR ,177BN CRPF at Takyabal Krankshivan Jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo. During checking a suspicious movement of three persons was observed who were comming from Dharnambal towards Takyabal and on seeing the naka party suspected persons tried to flee from the spot but the security forces apprehended them tactfully.
During search two pistols, two magazines, 10 pistol rounds, 01 hand grenade, 01 Ak 47 rifle were recovered from their possession.
During questioning they revealed their identity as:
- Rahid Mushtaq Ganie S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie R/O Amargarh
- Amir Shafqat Mir S/O Mohammad Shafi Mir R/O Amargarh
- Tahir Nisar Sheikh S/O Nisar Ahmad Sheikh R/O Baag e Rehmat Sopore.
Preliminary investigation revealed the arrested individuals are uncategorised militants of proscribed organisation LeT, who were planing to attack security forces and civilians.
Accordingly case under relevant sections has been lodged at Police Station Tarzoo, further investigation is still going on.
