Srinagar, October 01: As a part of Country-wide “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, Jammu and Kashmir Police under the theme ‘Swachhata Pakhwada-Swachhata Hi Seva’ organised massive cleanliness (Shramdaan) drives across Jammu and Kashmir.

The ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada’ initiative, a nationwide campaign for cleanliness and sanitation was held at all JK Police establishments across the UT, aimed to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the area.

The primary goal of the Swachhata campaign is to encourage large scale citizen participation and create awareness amongst all sections of society about the importance of working together towards making towns and cities better places to reside in.

In Baramulla, Police on the directions of SSP Baramulla Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure organized cleanliness drives in all police establishments across district wherein locals also joined the campaign and cleaned streets, parks, river and other public places. Moreover, everyone pledged to devote himself for cleanliness and not indulging in littering the environment and making our country neat & clean.

In Ganderbal, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar cleanliness (Shramdaan) drive was organised in all the Police establishments of the District in which Officers & Jawans participated with full fervour and enthusiasm. The main cleanliness (Shramdaan) Drive was organised at DPL Ganderbal in which Addl. SP Ganderbal Shri Malik Aijaz alongwith DySP DAR Shri Nazir Ahmad and all the Police officers, jawans, CAPF’s & volunteers participated enthusiastically. Apart from Police establishments, the local areas, roadsides, footpaths and small drains were sanitized by way of using disinfect chemicals.

In Awantipora, cleanliness drives were carried out at all police establishments across the police district besides pledge taking ceremony was also organised in which officers and jawans participated with great fervour and enthusiasm.

In Sopore, police organized a ‘Swachhta Pakhwada Swachhta Hi Seva’ drive across the Police District Sopore in which Police officers, Jawans and locals participated enthusiastically. During the drive, roads sideways, drains were sanitized by way of using disinfect chemicals.

In Shopian, SSP Shopian Ms Tanushree led the officers, officials and observed 1 hour of Shramdaan for Swachhata Abhiyaan at DPL Shopian. Cleanliness drives were organised at all Police establishments wherein locals also joined the campaign and cleaned streets, parks, river and other public places. Moreover, SSP Shopian flagged off a plantation drive at DPL Shopian in which ASP Shopian, SP DAR Shopian, DySP Hqrs Shopian participated and planted saplings of ornamental plants around the periphery of DPO and DPL Shopian.

In Handwara, police carried out a massive cleanliness drive throughout the district at all police establishments. The programme was actively participated by jurisdictional Police heads\officers, jawans and locals with great enthusiasm.

In Pulwama, SSP Pulwama Shri Mohd Yousif along with other Police officers and officials enthusiastically participated in a cleanliness drive at DPL Pulwama. Similar events were also held in other Police establishments of the district in which police officers, jawans and the general public participated.

In Kulgam, on the directions of SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal, police organized cleanliness drives in all police establishments across district under Swachhta Pakhwada Swachata Hi Seva wherein locals also joined the campaign and cleaned streets, parks, drains and other public places.

In Kishtwar district, SSP Kishtwar, Shri Khalil Poswal led the police force in taking the pledges at DPL Kishtwar. In a significant demonstration of their commitment to cleanliness and community well-being, the Kishtwar Police force gathered at the District Police Lines (DPL) Kishtwar today to take three vital pledges. These pledges encompass Swachhta (cleanliness), Nasha Mukti (addiction-free), and Non-Violence, marking a transformative moment for the police force and the community it serves.

In District Samba, Police conducted cleanliness drives under “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign in the District Police Office, District Police Lines, Police Stations, Police Posts, Border Police Posts and other police establishments.

Training Institute STC Sheeri observed “Swachhata Pakhwada-Swachhata Hi Seva-2023” and carried out activities on this front. Besides, parts of STC Campus, areas surrounding the STC were also attended to and, a major cleanliness drive was carried out witnessed participation of whole supervisory and subordinates staff, including Trainees. The drive was, however, led by Sh. Mohd Majid Malik, SSP (Principal STC Sheeri).

Police Technical Training Institute, (PTTI) Vijaypur organized a cleanliness drive in the Institute and its adjoining area. During the cleanliness drive the entire premises and adjoining area of the campus was cleaned-up by staff and trainees of the Institute. While speaking on the occasion, Shri Shiv Kumar Principal PTTI Vijaypur said that such drives should be organized from time to time and everyone should participate to make this mission successful as such drives provide opportunities to make the area neat and clean.

Meanwhile, Swachhata Pakhwada-Swachhata Hi Seva-2023″ drives were carried out at all district headquarters, units, wing headquarters and battalion headquarters across Jammu and Kashmir in which Police officers and Jawans alongwith general public has participated. The people lauded the efforts of the Police for conducting such drives. Community members also assured their cooperation in such drives so as to make the surroundings neat and hygienic
