 Briefs media on Covid management in district 

GANDERBAL, JUNE 21: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today said during a press briefing that strict adherence to Covid SOPs is imperative to defeat the pandemic.

While giving details about the Covid situation in the district, the DC said that weekend curfew and other Covid restrictions are over in the district but night curfew from 8 PM to 7AM shall remain in place. Though restrictions are over but if Covid appropriate behavior is not followed by all, the restriction scenario can be back and urged upon people to follow the guidelines and SOPs religiously besides avoiding public gathering which would be imperative to combat the third wave of pandemic.

While giving details on positivity rate, the DC said that last week 7000 test were done in the district and positivity was 3.5% tests were positive and in this week 9300 tests are done and positivity rate is just 1.5%. Besides last week 249 cases were active and in this week 133 cases are active in the district. 

Elaborating on tests done at Covid Care Centres, she said that about 3400 tests are done on these centres till date and appreciated the people for supporting Covid teams in these centres and hoped same support and cooperation to Covid teams from general public.

Regarding 18-44 years vaccination drive, she said that 12000 person are inoculated in the district. She urged the Amarnath Service Providers viz Pony walas, Palki walas, Dandiwalas and other labours especially people from Sonamarg area to visit vaccination centres to get vaccinated.
