Srinagar, Nov. 17 (KS): The Army has said that security forces have remained vigilant and are ready to thwart disruptive actions in the Kashmir region.

Addressing a press conference at the 19th Infantry Division headquarters in Baramulla, as per News Agency Kashmir Scroll Raghav Amy’s Commanding Officer, she stated that attempts from Pakistan continue to disturb the peaceful environment in the Kashmir region and that despite the onset of winter, infiltration attempts have not reduced.

He said the Indian Army stands ready to face any challenges or attempts to disrupt peace in the region.

Meanwhile, a top army officer told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that we not only seek peace but also express our commitment to peace through our actions. But at the same time, we are also very clear that if anyone dares to look at us with ill intention or hostility, our forces posted along the line of control (LOC) will give a befitting reply.

He said in the past too, attempts by enemies had been stopped by our alert troopers to disturb the peaceful environment in the Kashmir region.

Pertinently, last month, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 28 Div, Maj Gen Girish Kalia, stated that security forces had successfully foiled all the infiltration attempts made from the other side of the Line of Control (LoC).

“There is a constant endeavor to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir, but our alert security forces have thwarted every such attempt, improving the security situation. As a result, development and tourism have gained pace in recent times,” he added.

Earlier this month, BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal also commented on the LoC, saying that there are always attempts from across the border to push in more militants before the onset of winter and the closure of tracks due to heavy snowfall. However, the security forces are alert and would foil any infiltration bids. (KS)
