GANDERBAL, APRIL 20: The District Magistrate, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal today said that the restrictions will continue in Ganderbal District till May, 03.

However as per the guidelines by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs Govt. of India, the relaxation will be allowed only after proper assessment of the ground situation and necessity of the things, he added.

He said this during his visit along with SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal to the town to monitor the implementation of lockdown in the district.
On the occasion several vehicles were seized who violated the lockdown orders.

The DM asked the police authorities to allow only emergency vehicles after proper verification and movement passes. A complete lockdown will continue till 03 May throughout the Ganderbal District and no person will be allowed without movement passes except medical emergency, he added.
The DM appealed people to stay at home to break the chain of corona Virus infection and ensure strict adherence to the order as the non-compliance shall entail strict actions under the relevant laws.
