Ganderbal 12 May (KNZ):After a prolonged wait of more than a decade,Roads and Buildings (R&B) department Ganderbal have started full black-topping the 08-KM Beehama-Wayil road which connects Sonamarg and Ladakh.

Commuters said finally heaved a sigh of relief as the R&B department started black-topping of the Beehama-Wayil road, much to the delight of the commuters who had gathered there in large numbers to see their dream come true.

According to locals said that “After decade, we were able to see the work of full blacktopping on the long-pending dream of our road.

They also expressed gratitude to the government, administration and especially the R&B department for starting work on this busy road.

According to reports the
said road was fully blacktopped by beacon and was handed over to R&B department befor a decade.

Executive Engineer R&B Tatheer Manzoor told Kashmir News Zone-KNZ News Agency, he said that the our department has pressed men and machinery into service to macadamise

This road was dilapidated on various spots and we have started black-topping on 08-KM Beehama-Wayil road and we will also try to macadamise some important link roads depending upon the condition of the roads.

He said this will provide respite to the commuters and we will complete the black-topping of this road in coming days.

Tatheer also said taking advantage of fewer vehicles on the road during night hours, the department commenced the blacktopping work in full swing.

The project has been taken up by the Roads and Bridges (R&B) Department and is being supervised by concerned engineers.KNZ
