Authorities suspended a Pharmacist in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district for refusing to serve food to Covid-19 patients.
  
Official sources told KNT that District Administration Kupwara issued suspension order in favour of a Pharmacist (ISM) identified as Shabir Ahmed Lone deployed at Isolation Hospital in Kupwara.
  
District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ansul Garg decided to suspend the Pharmacist after Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara reported that Shabir Ahmed Lone who was deployed for duties at Covid-19 Hospital Kupwara for the newly established quarantine centre refused to serve food to the patients, thereby causing inconvenience to them.
  
CMO had sought strict action against the said Pharmacist.
  
“Yes, the Pharmacist has been suspended for his unruly behavior. During the period of his suspension and till the completion of enquiry into this incident, he will remain attached with the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Karnah,” District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ansul Garg told KNT.
