GANDERBAL, JUNE 18: – With an aim to maintain strict regulation of SOP’s and Covid-19 related guidelines, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal along with ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, today visited various areas of the district and took stock of enforcement of permissible activities, unlock-1 guidelines, and implementation of SOPs by the shopkeepers, barbershops, and restaurant owners.
Among others Tehsildar Ganderbal, ARTO Ganderbal, EO Municipality and officers from police also accompanied the DC on the occasion.
The areas that were inspected during the visit were Main Market Beehama, Duderhama and Touheed chowk wherein the DC exhorted upon the shopkeepers, Barber shops, and restaurant owners for strictly adhering to the discipline of fighting COVID-19 by wearing masks, observing social distancing, frequent hand-washing and maintaining hygiene and were urged to follow other related guidelines for carrying permissible activities with letter and spirit.
Meanwhile, those shopkeepers, commuters and private vehicles plying on the roads who were found violating any of the guidelines/SOPs were fined on the spot. DC warned the violators about the strict action if they are found opposing any of the guidelines during the business hours.
DC particularly urged upon the Barber-shops and restaurant owners to work as per the guidelines of Covid-19 and SOPs like maintaining personal hygiene, wearing head gears, Gowns, gloves besides maintaining social distancing, and use of sanitizers and avoiding unnecessary gathering.
Furthermore, Covid-19 guideline posters/stickers were also pasted on the vehicles plying on the roads to create an awareness among the masses about following the SOPs.
Earlier, DC also convened a meeting regarding the implementation of unlock-1 guidelines and SOPs, with all Tehsildars and flying squad teams.
DC directed the Tehsildars to ensure that the Covid related SOPs and guidelines are being strictly followed in their areas, and to inculcate the ethos of wearing masks among the common masses, people found without wearing masks should be fined on spot and warned for strict adherence of maintaining SOPs.
ARTO Ganderbal was directed to ensure SOPs are being followed by Sumo drivers plying on roads, and not more than 4 passengers should be allowed to board. Flying Squads were directed to be more vigilant and active in maintaining the tempo of market inspection on daily basis.
