Stresses for adherence of CAB, SOPs strictly on Ashura

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 18: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today said that Positivity has decreased drastically in the district and positive cases are also showing decreasing trend.

The DC said this during a routine press briefing to present an overall situation of the Covid-19 in the district, besides the Covid containment and mitigation measures employed so far in the district.

While complementing all Officers/officials for ensuring foolproof timely arrangements on I-Day, the DC said that Independence day was celebrated under all SOPs and guidelines related to Covid and thanked the general public for adhering the SOPs during the National event.

While giving details, the DC said that in last week 11000 Covid tests were done and Covid Positivity has decreased drastically in the district adding that positive cases are also showing decreasing trend and only 61 cases are active in the district.

Regarding vaccination campaign for 18-44 years, the DC said that a new micro planning is done in last week in which population of selective villages that are in vicinity to medical blocks are vaccinated on pilot basis to achieve the target at an earliest. She said that vaccination in these villages is going on smoothly and most of young generation is vaccinated. She urged the BMOs to further double their efforts so that target is achieved in next 15 days.

She again requested the people to keep following CAB and avoid large gathering on Ashura, i.e on 10th Muharram especially in Dab and Kullan, which are Shia dominating areas.
