GANDERBAL, MARCH 03: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today presided over one day work shop cum awareness programme under national action plan for Drug demand reduction under Nasha Mukhut Bharat Abiyan.

The work shop was conducted by Social Welfare Department in collaboration with District Administration and SRDGVV(NGO) here at Town Hall Ganderbal with an aim to make participants aware about substance drug abuse and ways to get rid of this menace and its total eradication from society particularly from District Ganderbal.

On the occasion Deputy Commissioner felicitated some drug recovered persons during the event and gave instructions to General Manager, District Industries Centre, Ganderbal
to process the cases of these recovered persons under specific self employment schemes so that they would be able to start their own ventures to earn their livelihood. She said that the need of the hour is to have a collective approach to get rid of the drug menace from the district.

Other officers and Dignitaries who participated in the event include. ASP Ganderbal, Dr. Umar jan, psychiatrist District Hospital Ganderbal, Assistant Director handicrafts Ganderbal, Mohamad waseem mirza, munsif judicial court District Court Ganderbal, Staff of ICPS, ICDS besides students of various educational institutions of rhe district.

The event was concluded with a pledge by all participants that District Ganderbal will be made free from drugs with the active support of police, District Administration and other sections of society.
