Sopore, 20 April: The body of a man missing for the past 22 days was recovered from the Jhelum River in Sopore area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday morning. officials said.
An official said that the deceased has been identified as Mohammad Maqbool Mir, son of Abul Aziz Mir, of Mapanpora Sopore.
The body was spotted by locals floating in the river jehlum near the Kraltang Sopore area.
They immediately informed the police, who reached to the spot and shifted the body to the district hospital Sopore for medico-legal formalities and body will be hand over to the family for last rites.he said.
Meanwhile Police have taken cognizance of the matter and have initiated an investigation.
