Srinagar, July 5, KNT: Government has suspended a lady officer in Youth Service and Sports for demanding a bribe from an Event Manager to facilitate the release of payment in his favor. The lady employee in question is Divisional Officer.
The accused Divisional Officer whose audio clip wherein she demands Rs one lakh bribe from an Event Manager for releasing two cheques is viral on social media.
After surfacing of this audio clip, the netizens have been accusing Youth Service and Sports Department of rampant corruption. Some have alleged that corrupt officers are being promoted, encouraged, and shielded in every department.
Netizens claimed that no action against the accused Divisional Officer has been taken so far.
The official claim that the accused officer has been suspended but we haven’t seen any such order,” claimed an insider.
However, Secretary Youth Services and Sports, J&K Government, Sarmad Hafeez told a reporter that the divisional officer has been placed under suspension, an inquiry has been initiated and Secretary Sports Council has been directed to submit her report to the Government following which appropriate action, whatever warranted in such matters, will be taken.
