Ganderbal 30 Oct (KNZ):Residents of Kurhama Ganderbal held a protest against health department over the poor health services in Primary Health Centre (PHC), which looks after the medical needs of over 20 Villages.

Despite spending crores of rupees on this health institution, the services here are far from satisfactory. It seems that there is none in the Health Department to take care of this important PHC a local told media

The building of the hospital too needs immediate repairs. Though there is a X-ray machine,dental chair at the institute, it is lying idle due to the absence of a technician.

Residents said there was no provision for emergencies.Accident cases are also not attended to at the hospital. Many a times, the patient dies on the way for want of medical care.In such cases, residents were directed by the doctors on duty to either go to District hospital Ganderbal or SKIMS

Last year Director health visits PHC Kurhama and Directs officials to submit report.Tha time BMO Wakura submits report to finance department

However finance department again return file to BMO office for verification but from last 2 months file is still pending on BMO office

Residents said we have approached many time to BMO office but to no avail

Now Residents appealed District Administration and LG to intervene,so that patients not suffer more and more

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ Contacted Incharge CMO Dr Arooza She said its basically designated Sub center,and we have project to upgradation of health and wellness center,now locals demand upgrade PHC or CHC center

But we have some formalities in this regard when we have completed all formalities then we will forward the file to the higher authorities,she added.KNZ
