Kulgam CNS, July 12: Kulgam Police on Monday while taking cognizance of the baseless rumours spreading by some miscreants about black marketing of the govt supply (rice) loaded in trucks bearing registration Nos.JK18A-2706, JK18B-6317, JK03D-8667 carrying FCI rice supplies.

In a statement issued to CNS said that the miscreants are instigating people that they are indulging in and are trying to disrupt peace in the area. But the fact is that on 11-07-21 while routine patrolling and checking of vehicles the said vehicles (Trucks) were stopped for checking at Behibag.

“During questioning, the drivers produced challah no. 005786, 006807 and 006788 of FCI Godown Tanda dist Hoshiarpur having genuine seal of FCI and also clearance of monitoring committee Jammu and Lowermunda and were carrying FCI rice supplies from FCI Tanda to Pg -1 Godown Budgam. The owner of Pg-1 Godown namely, Sheikh Abdul Majeed was also contacted who also gave clearance that there is nothing fishy with the said trucks. All three drivers had come to have night halt at their village Munand as it was Sunday and they could not have unloaded their trucks at Pg-1 Godown Budgam as it was a holiday” statement added.
Statement clarified that after proper verification the trucks were allowed to move towards their destination as government supplies can’t be taken to halt unnecessarily and all drivers were directed to produce the receipt once they will unload the supplies at Budgam.

Kulgam Police warned of stringent action against those miscreants whosoever attempts to instigate people to disrupt peace and requested general public not to pay any heed to rumours.
