Says slain was involved in killing of 12 civilians in 2016; Another encounter breaks out in Gusu area of Shalimar, Sgr

Srinagar, Jan 03 : Inspector General of Police Kashmir range Vijay Kumar Monday said that the killing of top Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Muhammad Saleem Parray was a big success for the police as the slain was involved in dozens of killings including throat-slitting of 12 civilians in 2016.

“Srinagar police cornered Saleem Paray and he opened fire. In the retaliatory firing, he was killed,” IGP Kashmir told reporters as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), adding that the killing of Parray is a big success for police as he was involved in dozens of killings. “In 2016 agitation, Saleem Parray had killed 12 civilians by slitting their throats,” he said, adding that Parray was killed in an encounter at Shalimar garden in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, police tweeted that another encounter started in Gusu area of Shalimar area of Srinagar where police and CRPF men were on job—(KNO)
