Awantipora: A grand function was held in Islamic University of Science and Technology Awantipora on Wednesday to celebrate University’s 16th Foundation Day.

The function was held in University Auditorium, which was attended by a large number of students and staff members.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Romshoo, and Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal were also present.

The function had several sessions and performances, and was also attended by former Vice Chancellors of the university.

Addressing the gathering, the former Vice Chancellors have shared their experiences, that how they worked for the welfare of university during their tenure.

Talking to media, Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal has said that Islamic University played a great role in bringing up new courses and infrastructure facilities.

He said that “Islamic university was started with two buildings in 2005, but have eighteen departments now.”

He further said that Islamic University is now preparing for NAAC team visit, with the expectations that it will get a good rank.

Dr. Monisa Qadiri, Prof. A.H. Moon, Dean of Students- Prof. Anisa Jan, Deans of various schools, HODs of different departments, Professors, Principal MMCNT Asmat Parveen and other officers were also present in the function.

The Media Advisor to Vice Chancellor, Dr. Monisa Qadiri, proposed a vote of thanks in the end of the programme.
