International Women’s Day 2020,I Am Generation Equality:

Realizing Women’s Rights International Women’s Day encourages us all to reflect on the importance of gender equality, to celebrate the successes of women, and to acknowledge the work that is still left to be done. “With women making up more than 50% of the world’s population and often being the main link for the family and connection to the community, there remains a great deal of work to be done to ensure equal rights in all aspects of life.Generation Equality demands equal rights and opportunities as well as a world free from violence and exploitation for all women, men & transgender persons.

The race is on for the gender-balanced boardroom, a gender-balanced government, gender-balanced media coverage, a gender-balance of employees, more gender-balance in wealth, gender-balanced sports coverage.International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

The 2020 theme I Am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights focuses on innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services, Access to Justice, Access to Welfare, Access to Administration and sustainable infrastructure. The achievement of the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires transformative shifts, integrated approaches and new solutions, particularly when it comes to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.

Innovation and technology provide unprecedented opportunities, yet trends indicate a growing gender digital divide and women are under-represented in the field of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and design. It prevents them from developing and influencing gender-responsive innovations to achieve transformative gains for society. From mobile banking to artificial intelligence and the internet of things, it is vital that women’s ideas and experiences equally influence the design and implementation of the innovations that shape our future societies.Message : “ Empowerment of WOMEN leads to development of a good family ,good society & ultimately ,a good nation .When the women is Happy ,the home is happy .

when the home is happy ,the society is happy & when the society is happy the state is happy and when the state is happy there will be a peace in the country & it will develop at greater pace ”Write-up by: Bilal Bhat-Social ActivistProject Coordinator J & K Women’s Helpline-181bilalbhat735@gmail.com
