Srinagar, Mar 08 : Authorities on Monday issued an advisory for Srinagar-Jammu Highway in view of inclement weather prediction by Meteorological Department for next few days.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that given the weather situation and prediction of inclement weather by MeT department, there are chances of blockade on Srinagar-Jammu Highway for next few days, people should avoid travelling on the highway.

“However, the stranded vehicles will only be allowed to move towards Srinagar on Tuesday only after confirming the status of National Highway”, an official told KNO.

In a communique issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police Headquarters, the traffic plan and advisory for 09-03-2021 reads, “In view of inclement weather prediction issued by MeT department for next few days, there are chances of blockade of NHW-44.

Peoples are advised to avoid journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. However, subject to fair weather and better road condition, only stranded vehicles between Udhampur and Nashree shall be allowed towards Srinagar.”—(KNO)
