Baramulla November 26: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 2 vehicles and arrested 2 persons in Baramulla.
A police party of PS Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg, seized 02 vehicles (tractors) and arrested their drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah.
They have been identified as Mehraj Ahmad Ganie son of Ab Aziz resident of Ichloo & Muntazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Ferozpora. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tangmarg and investigation has been taken up.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
