Kupwara:Natural disasters have always posed severe problems for far flung areas of Lolab Valley, many a times. Indian Army has always played a yeoman role in providing relief in times of natural calamities in the region during such testing times.

In one such incident on 28 Dec, Zorawar Garrison, Gujjarpatti came forward to provide relief to a pregnant mother of Tariyan village in North Lolab who developed sudden labour pain. Due to recent snowfall & non availability of any civil transport in this village the lady & her family were in distress. Indian Army provided assistance to Mrs Hanifa Begum wife of Mr Abdul Hamid, resident of Tariyan village who sustained labour pain helped her to shift to hospital in time. Soldiers of Zorawar Garrison, Gujjarpatti lifted the lady on stretcher, arranged a sumo vehicle and shifted her to hospital for further facilities.

Her husband & family were deeply touched by this gesture & expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army. The humanitarian efforts of Indian Army have been appreciated by everyone from all walks of life.
