Srinagar, Aug 8 : Army’s search party on Thursday retrieved two militant bodies in Bakhtoor area along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district amid.

A senior police officer told GNS that the search operation launched in Bakhtoor area by Army’s 36 RR and 4 PARA Commandos following the gunfight on Tuesday, which saw the killing of four army soldiers including an officer of Major rank, is still underway to trace out the “infiltrators” hiding inside the dense woods.

“Today a joint team of forces recovered the bodies of two militants who were killed two days ago in Bakhtoor area close to the LoC,” the officer said.

He said both militants belong to Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit and their identities are being ascertained.

The gunfight broke out on Wednesday wee hours after the stand-off between Army and “infiltrators” in the area which resulted into the killing of four army men including a major.

As per sources, Army has used sniffer dogs and pressed helicopters into service to trace out the fleeing “infiltrators”. (GNS)
