DMO Appealed general public to extend all possible cooperation to the department

Ganderbal 05 Jan (KNZ): The Geology and Mining Department on Thursday cut down roads at two places in collaboration with police to stop illegal Mining.

An official said,on the Direction of District Mining Officer Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi, a team of Geology and Mining Department with assistance of Ganderbal Police cut down many roads at Gangerhama,Wahidpora and adjoining areas to stop illegal Mining.

He said during the exercise, 4 vehicles seized including 3 tippers and 1 tractor in Yenihama and Ganderbal.

District Mining officer Er. Zulfikar Mohd Shafi has asked all those associated with mining activities to abide by the rules and take necessary permissions before doing any type of mining activity like excavation, transportation and dumping of minor minerals.

He also requested the general public to extend all possible cooperation to the department.KNZ
