Ganderbal 15 Jan:J & K Police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society, in this connection a back to back action against drug peddling mafias occurred in District Ganderbal.

As early it was intimated that Ganderbal Police arrested a drug peddler at a naka point at Peerpora, Ganderbal with a consignment of 900 gms of bung powder and a cash amount of rupees 240500/- from his possession and accordingly an FIR No. 03/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered against accused at Police Station Ganderbal.

During routine naka checking at same place Peerpora near Qamaria Ground, Ganderbal a similar case occurred as another person namely Bashir Ahmed Khan @seta S/O Ghulam Mohd Khan R/O Hajam Mohalla Saloora, Ganderbal was found roaming in suspicious manner near at naka point, while intervention by Police naka party lead by SHO Police Station Ganderbal INSP Khurshid Awan and accordingly naka party put frisking of the said person 3kgs of bung powder recovered from his possession.

The accused person was apprehended, contraband consignment was seized on spot.

In this regard a case FIR No. 05/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been taken up.

Locals of the area have hailed the back to back action of Ganderbal Police and expecting that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in the future also.
