Ganderbal:In a major breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir Police in District Ganderbal arrested two terror associates during a late-evening operation and recovered arms, ammunition, and cash amounting to ₹8,40,500.
The operation was conducted by Police Station Ganderbal in coordination with the Special Operations Group (SOG) near Gundrehman Bridge.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police intercepted a load carrier bearing registration number JK15B-7309 during naka checking.
Upon search, the following items were recovered:
One Chinese pistol,One pistol magazine,Four pistol rounds,Two hand grenades
Cash amounting to ₹8,40,500
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ghulam Nabi Mir, son of Mohammad Subhan Mir, resident of Hajin, District Bandipora, and Shabnum Nazir, daughter of Nazir Ahmad Ganie, resident of Shalabugh, District Ganderbal.
A case under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal. Further investigation is underway to determine the source, intent, and possible linkages related to the recovered arms, ammunition, and cash.
Ganderbal Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the district and appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to unlawful activities.
