GANDERBAL, AUGUST 13: Full dress rehearsal was held in the district Ganderbal in connection with the forthcoming Independence-day.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba unfurled the tricolor, took the salute at the march-past, inspected the parade and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for the hassle free celebration of the national event at Gadoora Stadium Govt. College of Physical Education here today.

The march-past was presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, SSB and Home Guard, besides, colorful cultural items and theme based skits as a part of the full-dress rehearsal were presented by well-known local artists.

The ADC interacted with contingents and appreciated their preparations for the event.

In his address, ADC lauded the importance of Independence-Day celebration and highlighted the various developmental activities registered by different departments in the district and achievement under different welfare schemes during the current financial year.

It is an endeavor of the district administration to facilitate all- round and equal development of all blocks in the district, he added.

He also highlighted the mitigation efforts put forth by the district administration with regard to containment of COVID-19 pandemic in the district.

while reiterating governance at door steps in the district, an initiative by the district administration, he said that several outreach programs were held at various places to ensure timely redressal of public grievances.

The event was witnessed by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ACR Ganderbal, DYSP Head Quarter besides various other civil and police officers
