Srinagar, Sep 18 (GNS): Mainly dry weather has been forecast for next 24 hours while as night temperature recorded a fall with several places recording less than normal during this time of the season in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that no large change was expected in the weather for the next two days.

Regarding the minimum temperature, he said, Srinagar recorded a low of 12.4°C against 16.2°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.5°C above normal for the summer capital during this time of the year, he said.

Qazigund recorded a low of 11.2°C against 13.2°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.9°C above normal there, he said.

In Pahalgam, he said, the mercury settled at 6.1°C against 9.1°C on the previous night and it was 1.7°C below normal for the south Kashmir resort.

Kokernag recorded a low of 10.8°C against 12.7°C the previous night and it was 0.1°C above normal for the place, he said.

World famous Gulmarg resort recorded a low of 6.0°C against 8.5°C on the previous night. It was 1.9°C below normal for the north Kashmir place, he said.

In Kupwara town, the mercury settled at 9.6°C against 12.8°C the previous night, the official said. It was 0.6°C below normal for the north Kashmir place, he said.

Jammu recorded a low of 21.5°C against 23.5°C on the previous night. It was 1.9°C below normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 10.6°C, Batote 12.9°C, Katra 19.2°C and Bhadarwah 11.9°C. (GNS)
