Ganderbal, Aug 10: A week long plantation drive was started by the District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal in collaboration with Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal.

As a part of the drive, saplings were planted in the premises of Qamaria Park, Ganderbal by the Chairman DALSA, Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Chief Judicial Magistrate Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Bhat and Secretary DALSA Sajad-ur-Rehman.

While planting the saplings, the Chairman DALSA highlighted the advantages of the plants in maintaining ecological balance and in preventing hazards of dry seasons.

While addressing the group of gardeners, Chairman highlighted role of plants in maintaining greenery, beautification and eco-friendly environment. The plants for the peasants constitute a source of financial support as well. The legal and moral duty of the citizens for the conservation of forests and protection of trees was highlighted on the occasion.

The drive shall continue upto 14th of August, 2020.
