Jammu, Nov 10 (KNZ): With an aim to provide financial assistance to the wards of slain police personnel, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh Wednesday sanctioned a scholarship of over Rs 2.30 lakh in favour of 28 such wards.

The scholarship has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Education Fund for the academic session 2020-21 in favour of wards of slain police personnel who are pursuing their education from primary to university level.

Under this order, the scholarship of Rs 2400 each has been granted in favour of 06 wards of police martyrs who are studying in primary classes, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, adding that Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of those 03 wards, who are pursuing middle education.

Similarly, the scholarship of Rs 10000 to 12000 has been granted in favour of 19 wards of police slain who are pursuing higher education.

Pertinently, Police headquarters is running various scholarship schemes which include scholarships for wards of serving/deceased/slain Police personnel/SPOs for class 10th & 12th.

Special reward is also given to the students who perform exceptionally in the college/universities and technical courses. Rewards are also given to the wards who crack competitive exams like UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET, CSIR etc.(KNZ)
