GANDERBAL, JANUARY 29: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today convened a meeting of PDD authorities to review overall power scenario and the status of ongoing development works carried out by the department under different schemes in the district.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, SE O&M (KPDCL) Ganderbal, Exn O&M (KPDCL Division Ganderbal and other concerned officers and officials. Besides the meeting was also attended by BDC chairpersons of the District.

On the occasion, the DDC inquired about the availability, demand and position of power supply in the district and also took a comprehensive review of the work on other vital projects spearheaded by the PDD under various schemes including RAPDRP, IPDS, PMDP, DDUJY, etc.

The DDC directed the concerned to ensure completion of works which are meant for providing better power supply in the district shall be completed on time including upgradation works of receiving stations within the district.

The meeting also reviewed the functioning of Regional Transformer Repairing Workshop availability of buffer stock of transformers and status of damaged transformers in the district.

While reviewing the repairing capacity of the Regional Transformer Repairing workshop, the DDC exhorted upon the concerned that damaged transformers shall be replaced/repaired as per the notified schedule besides, introductory and tracking mechanism for the admission of damaged transformers and their proper dispatching shall be properly maintained so that inconvenience caused to the people is mitigated. 

The DDC directed the concerned engineers to strictly adhere to the curtailment schedule and instructed them that people should be informed in case there is any change regarding unscheduled power cuts duly authorized by SE concerned. 

Later, DDC also chaired a meeting with officers of JKPCC and JKHB to review the status of ongoing projects viz District Hospital Ganderbal, Govt Engineering College Safapora, Yachama Bridge, Trangchatari Bridge and MCH kangan.
