 BANDIPORA, JANUARY 04: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, Monday convened a high level meeting to review the arrangements to be put in place for ensuing Republic Day celebrations in the district.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of  Police Rahul Malik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Officers from CRPF, ARMY , BSF, CEO, SDM Sumbal and all Executive Engineers, , Tehsildar Headquarters and concerned district and sectoral officers.

It was given out that the main function will be held at District Headquarter and the venue shall be decided soon while similar functions will be organized at all Tehsil/Sub-Division Hqrs. Officers informed that the practice for the republic day parade shall start from January 10 at DPL Bandipora. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, CRPF, FPF and students shall participate in the parade. Full Dress rehearsal shall take place on January 24.

While addressing the meeting, the DDC said that all concerned departments shall ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place as per past practice.

The DDC said that keeping in view the impending weather situation and predictions announced, R&B and Mechanical Engineering departments shall remain in pro active gear and will ensure immediate clearing of Road and spots where the functions are to be organized.

          DC stressed upon the officers to ensure hassle free arrangements for smooth conduct of the National Event and instructed them to follow the timeline for ensuring arrangements well in advance. He also directed them to follow protocol of COVID-19 strictly and ensure use of masks in the function.

          The DC also stressed the need for maintaining protocol in seating arrangement and also issued directions to the police department for taking proper protocol of National Flag.

The police department was entrusted with security arrangements and the Information Department was asked to facilitate proper Public Addressing System and media coverage of the event. ARTO was asked to make sufficient arrangements of vehicles and parking at the parade ground.

          Other arrangements including refreshment, deployment of magistrates, arrangement of cultural programmes, barricading, facility of commentators and availability of fire-tenders were also reviewed.
