BANDIPORA, FEB 11: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad today reviewed the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Afsar Ali Khan, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Superintending Engineer Jal Shaktee, Assistant Commissioner Development Ab Rashid Dass, Executive Engineer Jal Jeevan Mission and other senior officers of the district.

On the occasion, Dr Owais said under Jal Jeevan Mission (Har Ghar Nal) the recent survey report provided complete detail of households with and without functional tap water connections in the district. He said after obtaining the survey results, PHE Department has been asked to provide functional Household Tap Connections to unconnected 13778 HHs of the district.

He said the report provided all vital statistical inputs that are prerequisite for proper planning, execution and monitoring of PHE Schemes. It was given out that an action plan for implementation of JJM has been formulated. Officers informed that 118 Village Action Plans have been framed including 41 villages in Bandipora, 50 villages in Sumbal and 27 villages in Gurez while 116 number of schemes have been proposed comprising 18 new and 98 retro-fitting schemes having the financial implication of Rs 289.79 Cr . It was given out DPR appraisal committee approved 42 schemes of PHE Division Bandipora

Dr Owais asked the officers to expedite the process so that water supply is provided to left out households at earliest that will fulfill the aim of the mission. The DDC urged the officials to fill the gaps for effective implementation of JJM which envisages to provide every household Piped Water in the district as providing safe drinking water to all is the core of this Mission.
