BANDIPORA, JULY 16: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed today reviewed the measures taken by the district administration to contain the spread of COVID19 in Sonawari Sub Division.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmed Lone, SDPO Sumbal and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner reviewed the steps taken by the administration in Sumbal Sub -Division in order to contain the spread of corona virus. He was informed that strict lockdown has been imposed in Sumbal town for 48 hours after service providers were detected COVID positive.

Meeting was informed that under Hifazat Campaign, various departments are sensitizing people about the precautionary measures to be taken to avert the spread of Covid-19 besides intensifying fumigation drives to sanitize public places, distributing hand sanitizers, masks and reading material including brochures, leaflets, regarding do’s and don’t among the people.

DC Bandipora Dr Owais said the use of masks have been made mandatory in the district and asked the officers to implement the order strictly on ground and impose fine on the people who refuse to wear masks.

He said only those shopkeepers shall be allowed to operate their business who have been tested negative and have attended mandatory training on COVID19. He said no shopkeeper shall be allowed to operate his/her business without testing.

DC Bandipora directed the shopkeepers to strictly ensure that they shall display their negative test reports and certificate of having attended COVID19 training on entry of the shop and shall keep record of the customers with basic details on daily basis.

The shopkeepers have also been directed to ensure adequate social distancing in customers and shall keep sanitzers on front desk of the shop besides keeping masks available in the shop. DC directed the shopkeepers not to sold items to those customers who come without wearing masks.

Dr Owais directed the concerned officers to follow the directions of government and spread awareness regarding maintaining social distancing and other precautionary measures. He also urged the shopkeepers to cooperate with the district administration to ensure the spread of virus is prevented.  He said the use of masks has become very important in the current scenario besides maintain other health hygiene and social distancing.
