District Development Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Tuesday chaired a review meeting regarding 100 percent saturation of Border Villages with Development Schemes.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning and district heads of several line departments. It was given out that 27 villages of Gurez valley of the district falls in border area and as per the instructions from the Chief Secretary these villages have to be saturated with outcomes of ongoing government programs.

The officers informed that the schemes shall broadly cover basic amenities including drinking water, electricity, roads, schools, HWC hospitals, ICDS centers, rural infrastructure, agri allied schemes, social welfare and social security schemes. Officers informed that the critical gap analysis is being carried out by respective sectoral heads under the supervision of SDM Gurez and action plans for saturation has been formulated by the implementing departments.

On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Bandipora directed the officers to initiate the speed up the process of gap analysis for Gurez and subsequently work on the action plan for saturating outcomes of the schemes.

The meeting was further informed that Bonakoot block shall be adopted by the district administration so as to develop it as a model block. Joint Director Planning informed that a team of officers have been constituted who will visit the block and identify the critical gaps that needs to be taken care off with regard to the development besides improving the living standards of the people by providing quality education, Healthcare services and other basic amenities.
