BANDIPORA, MAY 01: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad along with Senior Superintendent of Police, Bandipora, Mohammad Zahid, on Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Bandipora town to take stock of implementation of Covid lockdown besides reviewing the healthcare services at District Hospital Bandipora.

            Other officers who accompanied were, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Block Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Masarat Iqbal, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora, Bashir Ahmad, Officers of R&B and other senior officers.

            The Deputy Commissioner  directed the concerned officers to ensure smooth and hassle free   delivery of essential services during the ensuing Lockdown from Last night till Monday morning in the district.  He directed the concerned to ensure availability of ration, medicines besides smooth supply of Electricity and Water across the district including in the covid containment zones.

            He also urged the law enforcing agencies to give smooth passage to patients , healthcare workers and other government employees. He appealed people to follow strictly all the guidelines and precautions in view of the pandemic and any violation shall invite strict action.

            Deputy Commissioner Bandipora later visited District Hospital Bandipora to inspect the functioning of High flow oxygen plant in the hospital besides reviewing the healthcare services to combat the 2nd wave of covid19 pandemic.

            Dr Owais inspected the newly established oxygen plant and reviewed its functioning. He urged the experts to ensure regular supply of the oxygen to the wards available in the hospital and stated that the oxygen plant capacity is enough to cater the hospital wards besides special 25 wards dedicated for COVID patients.

While taking stock of the functioning and generation capacities of the oxygen plant, Dr Owais directed the concerned to work in coordinated manner to ensure adequate chain of Medical Oxygen including bulk oxygen cylinders to meet any emergent Covid-19 situation.

             Later Deputy Commissioner also visited Old District Hospital complex to review the shifting of OPD section and other related sections to the old hospital complex in view of the surge in covid19 cases. He directed the officers to shift the OPD section by tomorrow so that the OPD section can run smoothly from the old complex from Monday morning. Labor room, gynaecology section, labour rooms and dental section have also been shifted to the old complex temporarily.
