GANDERBAL, May 29, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited various ration stores in the district to monitor the free ration distribution for the month of May and June to Migrant labors under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
 
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and other officials.

During the visit DC distributed the ration including rice and pulses among the several families of migrant labours at Sale Centre Lar (B).

On the occasion, the Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs informed the DC that there are 663 families comprising 1083 souls of migrant labours to be covered under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and 109 quintals, 30 kg of rice, and 6 quintals or both Urd and Moong dal, are being distributed for the month of May and June. He also informed that 66% of ration under this scheme is already distributed among the beneficiaries.
 
The DC said that the district administration has already taken slew of measures to ensure that food grains reach every corner of the district during this period. He also said that the process of the distribution of free ration for the month of May and June under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan shall be completed in this week.
