GANDERBAL, JULY 15: District Magistrate, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal today visited warpoo, Shuhama to review the implementation of restrictions in the area which was recently declared red zone after few Covid positive cases were reported in the area.

Additional District Magistrate, Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba, ASP Ganderbal, EO Municipality, Tehsildar Ganderbal, BMO, and other concerned officials accompanied the DM.
 
While reviewing implementation of restriction in the area, the DM said that there shall be no inward and out ward movement of any person form the Red Zone exhorted upon the people to stay indoors as there will be complete lock down in Red Zone (Muqdam Mohalla/New Colony-Warpoo).
 
On the occasion while interacting with the Masjid Committee, the DM urged them to advise locals of the village to restrict their movement and shall not allow relative/visitors to visit their homes and any persons found violating the directions as ordered in the area shall be booked under the provisions of relevant act/law/rule.
 
 Meanwhile, the DM emphasized upon the official of health department for rapid sampling in red zone areas of the district and directed for 100% sampling of pregnant ladies, people above 60 years of age and service providers in these areas of the district besides increasing the contact tracing of positive cases.
 
Earlier, to control the spread of COVID-19 infection, District Magistrate declared Muqdam Mohalla/New Colony-Warpoo as red zones besides surrounding areas of the red zone viz-Kambay Mohalla and Rose lane are declared as buffer zones.
