BUDGAM; 31st July:Budgam Police seized 04 tractors and arrested 04 persons involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.
During patrolling near Nalla Sukhnag, Police party of Police Station Beerwah intercepted 04 tractors loaded with illegally extracting bed material from Sukhnag Nalla . The drivers upon noticing the police party tried to flee from the spot, but police party chased them and apprenheded them tactifully.The accused drivers were arrested & their tractors seized.The arrested driver has been identified as:-
1)Nisar Ahmed Malik son of Ali Mohammed Malik 2)Ajaz Ahmed Sheikh son of Mushtaq Sheikh residents of Bhatipora Khag 3)Gulzar Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Sail Beerwah 4)Nazir Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Kundora Beerwah
In this regard, Case FIR number 105/2022, under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation set into motion.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
