GANDERBAL, FEBRUARY 03: The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today presided over Block Diwas proceedings at Block Ganderbal, Lar and Kangan to assess the developmental needs and redress the grievances of the people at their doorsteps.

During the proceedings of weekly Block Diwas several delegations led by PRIs turned up to these camps and apprised the DDC about various issues and grievances they are facing and sought his intervention for early redressal.

CPO Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, Executive Engineers of PDD, Jal Shakti, PMGSY and R&B, AD Food, Dy. CEO, BDOs, DIO and other field functionaries of various departments accompanied the DDC.

The PRIs and locals apprised the DDC about various issues of public importance like development of playgrounds, augmentation of transformers, power supply lines with electric poles, provision of water supply to various habitations and other issues.

The DDC gave patients hearing to the demands and grievances and assured them that all the grievances and issues raised by them would be looked into. He resolved several issues on the spot besides issued instructions to the concerned departments to take measures for timely redressal of public issues.

While interacting with the public, the DDC said that the aim and objective of this programme is to take a firsthand appraisal of all issues at gross root level.

The DDC assured the PRIs that all their genuine issues would be taken into consideration in a time bound manner and directed the officers of line departments to work in coordination with the PRIs and prioritize the works as per the needs of common people.

The DDC reiterated that district administration is committed to provide basic amenities at the door steps of the people and redress their issues and grievances within the shortest possible time adding that District Administration is ensuring that public outreach programme shall prove fruitful and constructive initiative for future.

Meanwhile during the proceedings of block Diwas several departments also generated awareness regarding the beneficiary oriented schemes available with them especially PM SEHAT, PM KISAN, KCC, PMSYM, PMAY and self employment schemes.

The DDC appealed to the general people to register themselves for these schemes which are meant for improving their socio-economic condition.
