Bandipora 03 September 2021:-
Bandipora police continuing its war against the menace of drugs arrested a drug peddler at Putushay Bandipora and recovered contraband drugs from his possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding movement of a drug peddler a special naka was laid at Putushay Bandipora by police teams of PS Bandipora led by SHO PS Bandipora Inspector Showkat Ahmad and I/C PP Aloosa SI Shakeel Ahmed under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Bandipora Shri Mohammad Idrees -JKPS. During checking one suspicious person riding a motor cycle was signalled to stop and on his personal search 220 Capsules of contraband drug Sposmoproxyvan Plus were recovered.
The accused identified as Towseef Ahmad Kar S/o Nazir Ahmad Kar R/o Botengo Sopore was arrested and motor cycle bearing registration No JK05G-5170 was also seized.
During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the accused drug peddler was supplying the drugs to youths to make them drug addicts. Accordingly case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up.
People are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help police in eradicating the menace of drugs.
