ADDC G’bal unfurls tricolor on full dress rehearsal for I-Day
GANDERBAL, AUGUST 13: Full dress rehearsal was held in the district Ganderbal in connection with the forthcoming 75th Independence-day here at Qamariya Ground Ganderbal.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Ganderbal Pir Muzafar Ahmad unfurled the tricolor, took the salute at the march-past, inspected the parade and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for the hassle free celebration of the national event at the venue here today.
The march-past was presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, SSB, Home Guard and students of various schools. Besides, colorful cultural items and theme based skits as a part of the full-dress rehearsal were presented by students and well-known local artists.
In his address, ADDC lauded the importance of Independence-Day celebration and said that this year Independence day is celebrated as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India.
He expressed his tribute to the security personnel who have sacrificed their lives for upholding peace and integrity of the nation.
He also highlighted the various developmental activities registered by different departments in the district and achievement under different welfare schemes during the current financial year.
While highlighting the development activities, the ADDC said that R&B department has macadamized 55 km road out of 90 km target besides RDD has completed 255 works under MGNREGA till July, 2021 and has registered 35000 job cards. Similarly, 279 houses have been constructed under PMAY till July 2021. In addition, work on many ongoing development projects is in full swing in the district, he added.
Earlier, National Anthem was sung by students who were selected as winners in National Anthem Singing Competition at district level.
The event was witnessed by DDC Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna, SSP Ganderbal, ADC, DySP, ACR besides various other civil and police officers.
