GANDERBAL, JUNE 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today briefed the media on the current Covid scenario and mitigation efforts put in place in the district.
While giving details, the DC said that the active cases have drastically decreased in the district in this month. She said only 378 case are active in the district out of which 344 cases are in home isolation, 28 are in District Hospital besides 6 patients are referred to outside district for tertiary care.
While giving details about the active positive cases she said last week about 47% population of active cases was from micro containment zones. Micro containment zones are increased this week and now about 53% active positive population is from these zones, she added.
She appealed people especially from micro containment zones to provide full cooperation to the authorities who visit to these zones for sampling and testing adding that these zones are notified for their safety.
While elaborating on categorization of districts in various colour zones, the DC said that categorization of districts is based on five parameters viz weekly positive cases, positivity, death rate, vaccination coverage and bed occupancy in district. She said that district Ganderbal is in Yellow zone and appealed people to follow the COVID appropriate behavior strictly as they followed earlier so that our district comes in Green zone.
