Illegal mining cases would be dealt strictly according to law:DMO Ganderbal Er Zulfikar M Shafi

Ganderbal 06 June (KNZ):At least 46 vehicles including tippers and tractors seized by Geology Mining department Ganderbal used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Ganderbal and 6.80 lakh fine recovered from last month during raids.

According to reports In line with zero tolerance for illegal mining, District Mineral Officer (DMO) Ganderbal Er. Zulfikar Mohd Shafi along his team and with the help of Ganderbal Police conducted raids on different areas of Ganderbal district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials

Since there had been zero tolerance against illegal mining, the department had been holding an extensive drive against the violators from last month in different areas of the district including Kangan,Gund,Kulan, Shadipora,Manigam,Arch, Gutlibagh and other parts of district

During this drive 46 vehicles used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted were seized in Ganderbal and other areas of district and 6.80 lakh fine recovered, officials from Geology and mining department told Kashmir News Zone-KNZ.

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted DMO Ganderbal Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi he said,We are trying to curb mining that is taking place during the wee hours and evening on every day

He also told that all of his staff has been put on alert to monitor illegal mining that has been looting the public resources.

He advised consumers for purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal miners.

He further said that all the illegal mining cases would be dealt with under the rules and all the things against the violators would be done by a FastTrack system.KNZ
