Ganderbal 13 May (KNZ):In an exercise to settle pending and Pre-litigation cases, the District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal conducted 2nd National Lok-Adalat today on 13th of May, 2023. The Lok-Adalat was held under the supervision & Chairmanship of Mr. Ritesh Kumar Dubey, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal, and under the guidance of Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal.

Speaking on the occasion Pr .District & Sessions judge emphasized among the litigants, lawyers, and other stakeholders to come forward and settle their disputes by way of compromise as the same helps in settlement of disputes forever without any chance of appeal and ending of animosity forever. He further added the main aim of the NLA is to provide access to justice for all by resolving pending cases through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

National Lok-Adalat was constituted of Four benches for the amicable settlement of cases, wherein the First Bench was presided over by Mr. Ritesh Kumar Dubey (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) and Ms. Mainaaz Qadir (Munsiff Additional special Mobile Magistrate Ganderbal) as Bench Member, the 2nd Bench was presided over by Mr. Mohammad Waseem Mirza (Munsiff/JMIC Ganderbal)and Adv Mr. Syed haidar salathi ( president Bar Association Ganderbal) as Bench Member, the 3rd Bench was presided over by Mr. Easrarul Nabi (Munsiff/JMIC Kangan) and Advocate Jamal Ud Din as Bench member in Munsiff Court Complex Kangan, and the 4th Bench was presided over by Mr. Tariq Ahmad Bhat Tehsildar Ganderbal and Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Lone Naib Tehsildar Ganderbal as bench Member in Tehsil Office Ganderbal.

Overall 817 cases were taken up for settlement out of which 703 cases were amicably settled/Compromised on spot. Rs. 46,53,314/- was awarded as settlement amount in Bank recovery matters, Public Utility matters, 138 NI Act Cases, Civil, MACT Cases and other matters.KNZ
