UDHAMPUR, Apr 21: Two persons were killed while 28 others sustained injuries after a bus carrying marriage party turned turtle near Rang area of tehsil Ramnagar here today.

As per police sources, a bus bearing registration number JK02AW-5567 was carrying marriage party from Gogarmarh to Buland when the driver lost control over the wheels and the vehicle turned turtle on road near Rang area of tehsil Ramnagar, resulting into serious injuries to 30 persons.

On getting information, a team from Police Station Ramnagar led by SHO Inspector Pushpinder Singh rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. Dr Bhishm Dubey, SDPO Ramnagar also reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation.
The injured persons were rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Ramnagar, where two of them were declared as brought dead, while 13 others were referred to District Hospital Udhampur for specialised treatment.

The deceased were identified as Rajoo Devi (66), wife of Paras Ram of Kaghote and Bimla Devi (48) wife of Sandokhu Ram of Kaghotr, while the injured were identified as Soma Devi, Naira Sharma, Bimla Devi, wife of Satpal, Bansi Lal, Poli Devi, Chanchla Devi, wife of Bittu Ram, Suresh Kumar, Bittu, Gayatri Devi, Chanchla Devi, wife of Baldev Raj, Kanta Devi, Madan Lal, Varun Sharma, Gillu, Vijay Kumar, Satya Devi, Babli Devi, wife of Raj Kumar, Bandhu Devi, Kastoori Lal, Taro Devi, Nisha Devi, Sansaro Devi, Hans Raj, Bandna Sharma, Rekha, Ashok Kumar and Bittu Ram.

A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar and investigation started.
