All arrangements put in place for inaguration of Wayil Bridge:Officials

Ganderbal 22 May (KNZ):Much to the inconvenience of the commuters caused by the frequent traffic jams,the two lane arch truss Bridge at Wayil of Ganderbal District has been completed and likely inagurated on 25 May 2023 ,officials said

Officials said ,the bridge would be first of its kind in Kashmir.He said that the bridge is being opened to ease out traffic movement, adding that the present single-lane steel bridge is causing frequent traffic snarls due to which the commuters are facing inconvenience.

He said that the inauguration of the bridge will be on 25 May by LG Manoj Sinha.

According to locals tourists use this bridge to visit several famous tourist and pilgrim destinations including Sonamarg, Naranag and Amarnath shrine situated in different areas of the district.

Executive Engineer R&B Tatheer Manzoor talking to Kashmir News Zone-KNZ said that the two lane bridge is approved at the cost of Rs 23.79 crore funded by World Bank.

He said that the span of the bridge is 110 meters and width is 10.50 meters besides,10.5 mtrs incl both side footpath, length of approach roads is 330 meters.

According to sources said that the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shyambir Singh along with ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani , Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Ganderbal, Executive Engineer R&B Tatheer Manzoor and DDC Lar-A today visited the Newly constructed Wayil Bridge and inspected the final work of the bridge.

DC instructed the concerned department to make proper arrangements for inauguration of the newly Bridge by LG Manoj Sinha which is scheduled on 25th May.KNZ
