Says only 3 civilians died in cross firing in two years which is lowest in three decades

Srinagar, November 24:(GNS) Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that 144 militants were killed in encounters while two civilians died in cross firing in the valley this year.

He told GNS that 207 militants were killed last year while one civilian died in cross firing. ” So far 144 militants were killed in encounters while as two civilians died in cross firing in Kashmir this year, ” he said, adding, ” Last year 207 militants were killed during encounter and only one civilian killed in cross firing.

Overall, he said, only three civilians were killed in cross firing during encounters in last two years ” that is lowest collateral damage in last three decades”.(GNS)
