Srinagar, August 15: Srinagar police arrested eight gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 7360 from the gambling spot.
Acting on a tip off, Police party of Police Station Soura under the supervision of SDPO Soura raided a gambling site at Buchpora, Soura and arrested eight gamblers identified as Asif Rashid Lone son of Abdul Rashid Lone resident of Khalil Colony Soura, Adil Ranzu son of Late Abdul Ahad resident of Hajibagh Buchpora, Mehraj-ud-din Zargar son of Late Nissar Ahmad Zargar resident of Hajibagh Buchpora, Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Shaban resident of Dar Mohalla Awantabawan, Umar Shafat Bakshi son of Shafat Ahmad Bakshi resident of Hamza Colony Buchpora, Mohammad Khaliq Nowsheri son of Abdul Rashid resident of Lakhripora Nowshera, Sajad Ahmad Sofi son of Abdul Aziz resident of Hafiz Bagh Soura and Reyaz Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad Rather resident of Hafiz Bagh Soura. Stake money of Rs 7360 and gambling cards were seized from the gambling site. A case FIR number 59/2017 under section 13 Gambling Act was registered and investigation was taken up.
